EXF A BIG HIT WITH GB TAEKWONDO

Since Taekwondo hit the headlines in Beijing for all kinds of dramas, not to mention Britain's bronze medal, the martial art has seen an upsurge in interest throughout the UK.

And keen to capitalise on this and to invest in the sport's future its Manchester HQ has invested in a selection of high quality EXF Fitness supplied kit. The new equipment helping provide for existing participants and to cater for upcoming generations of Taekwondo enthusiasts.

Three Power Racks with integral platforms, heavy duty flooring and multi purpose benches have all added to the impressive facility to create a first class training area.

GB's Sarah Stevenson won a terrific bronze medal in Beijing but the sport became major news in bigger ways than could have been predicted. A controversial and hopelessly inept piece of judging appeared to have robbed Sarah of a bronze medal bout. But pressure and sense prevailed and an  historic reversal of the result was announced - an unprecedented moment in the sport.

And the man reluctantly thrust into the spotlight during the heated exchanges and diplomatic resolution of the situation was Performance Director at Sport Taekwondo UK Gary Hall. Gary explained the reason for linking up with EXF Fitness; “We looked at a number of suppliers and it was the whole EXF package that stood out. And the company has a history of not just operating in the wider fitness industry but also working at a specialist level with elite sports and that was important to us”.

He added, “Their attention to quality and detail was superb and when dealing with them we felt like we were really communicating on the same level.”

Another aspect that impressed Gary was EXF's well known capacity to go the extra mile. “Most companies like to say they'll do a bit extra, but how many will fix your plumbing?” laughed Gary.

Charles Burch, MD of the Suffolk based company, explained that he had indeed applied one of his lesser known talents whilst at the Manchester base. “They did have a troublesome leak going on and hadn't enjoyed much luck in getting anybody out quickly. But with a bit of hose and about an hours work I managed to sort it for them and was very happy to do so. As far as we're concerned this is about more than just an equipment installation. We'd like to collaborate with STUK in the future on valuable projects so I'm happy to roll my sleeves up for them any time!””
